Note Change
: As of AY2018-19, all tutoring appointments, including Writers’ Centre appointments, are scheduled through WCOnline. Please read below for important changes.

Schedule an Appointment

Select the schedule in the dropdown menu under your login information. There are three “schedules” to choose from:

1.Writing (consultations on the writing process across all disciplines and genres)

2.Language (Ancient Greek, Chinese, Sanskrit, Spanish)

3.Sciences/Social Sciences (content-based consultations in Biochemistry, Computer Science, Economics, Linear Algebra, Proof, Psychology, Python, QR)

Read the directions at the top of each schedule to make an appointment. Please note that there are different procedures for Writing, Language and Science/Social Science tutors.

Appointment Feedback

Within 24 hours of your appointment, you will receive an email from WCOnline asking you to provide feedback about your session. This information will be used by staff at the CTL and the Writers’ Centre to learn more about students’ tutoring experiences and to help improve Yale-NUS’ tutoring program.

Personal Data Practices

All peer tutors have access to your tutoring history in the WC Online system.

After each appointment, tutors record information about the session in a client report form. These reports detail academic information, such as strategies used, topics discussed, and suggestions for future action. The reports are made accessible to all peer tutors so that the peer tutor can prepare for each session and build upon the student’s previous appointments. Staff at the CTL and the Writers’ Centre closely monitor all reports, and peer tutors receive official personal data/ privacy training and are required to keep all information from the client reports confidential. We take confidentiality of student information very seriously and violations could be subject to disciplinary action.

If you have any concerns, you can discuss with staff at either the CTL or the Writers’ Centre.
